VPN Installation Instructions (Mac OS X)

  • Download the: VpnSetup
  • Install using the default settings.

  • To set up the client, open the Cisco VPN Client application and click on the “Connection Entries” tab, then the “New” icon.

  • Fill in the boxes using the following information:
    • Connection Entry: SCSVPN
    • Description: VPN
    • Host: vpn.csit.fsu.edu
    • The VPN username is "scsuser"
    • The VPN password is "scsvpn"

  • Make sure the button next to “Group Authentication” is checked.

  • Click on the “Transport” tab.

  • Make sure there is a check mark next to “Enable Transparent Tunneling”.
    • Place a check in the box next to “IPSec over UDP”.
    • Place a check next to “Allow Local LAN Access”.

  • Click on “Save”.

  • Start the connection process by clicking on the “Connect” icon.
    • As the VPN Client negotiates the connection a login box will appear;
    • Enter your SCS username and password.

  • Once the connection is established, the bottom of the box will display the connection status and duration.

  • If you are unable to establish a connection:
    • Review these instructions
    • Verify the settings
