Using the VCR
The School of Computational Science Seminar Room has a VCR Player located in the Presenter Station inside the right pedistal above the Seminar Room PC.
All control of the VCR is through the AMX Touchscreen Controller. This includes the playing and recording features of the VCR.
To begin using the VCR, first
turn on the projector(s) and
select the input for the VCR on the desired projector. Remember that Projector #1 is on the left side of the Rear Projection Screen and Projector #2 is on the right side when looking at the screen from the back of the Seminar Room.
To control the VCR, first make sure it is on. Press the "VCR & Cable TV Controls" button located on the top of the AMX Touchpanel. This will show the VCR Control page which will look like this:
Verify the VCR is turned on, and if it is not turned on press the "VCR Power" button located on the left side of the AMX Touchpanel screen. If the VCR is powered on, you may load your Videotape into the VCR through the loading slot on the front of the unit. You may use the playback controls located on the bottom of the AMX Touchscreen to play, stop, pause, rewind or fast forward the videotape. Once you have completed using your videotape, you can press the Eject button on the VCR to unload the tape.
A preview window is located in the center of the AMX display and will show the video feed from the VCR. Tapping the AMX screen in this mode will expand the preview window to a fullscreen view of the video feed and tapping the screen once more will revert back to the windowed view.
Eject your Videotape from the VCR by depressing the eject button to eject the videotape, remove your videotape from the loading slot when it is ejected.
PLEASE DO NOT POWER DOWN THE VCR
