Using the Document Camera
The School of Computational Science Seminar Room has a Samsung Document Camera located behind the Presenter Station on a podium next to the rear projection screen.
Using this document camera is very easy and requires little to no configuration by the end user. To turn on the camera locate and press the Power Button on the Document Camera's control panel (it's the large round silver button with a Red LED above it on the right side).
The LED above the power button will turn green and the camera will go through a short warm-up period at the end of which, the flourescent lamps on either side of the base plate will light up. Once these lamps light, the document camera is ready to be used. Then use the AMX Control Panel to
turn on the projectors if they are not already on and
select the proper input. If you wish to send the Document Camera image to both projectors, select the Document Camera as the source input for both Projector #1 and Projector #2.
Place your document on the base plate and adjust the image as needed. If you need to zoom in or zoom out, use the square zoom buttons located on the left side of the Document Camera control panel (- to Zoom-out and + to Zoom-in).
If you are using a transparency on the document camera, you can turn off the side flourescents and enable the base plate lamp to project light through the transparency. To do this, press the lamp button on the right side of the control panel until the base plate lamp lights up. If you want to switch back to the overhead flourescent lamps, press the lamp button until the side lamps light up.
If you need to rotate your image 90 degrees press the rotate button on the left side of the control panel. This is very useful if you want to present your documents lengthwise.
If the colors appear off for your document, you can press the AWC (Auto White Control) button to readjust the white balance.
