Using the DVD Player

The School of Computational Science Seminar Room has a DVD Player located in the Presenter Station inside the right pedistal above the Seminar Room PC.

All control of the DVD Player is through the AMX Touchscreen Controller. This includes the playing and menuing features of all DVDs.

To begin using the DVD Player, first turn on the projector(s) and select the input for the DVD Player on the desired projector. Remember that Projector #1 is on the left side of the Rear Projection Screen and Projector #2 is on the right side when looking at the screen from the back of the Seminar Room.

To control the DVD Player first make sure it is on. Press the "DVD Controls" button located on the top of the AMX Touchpanel. This will show the DVD Control page which will look like this:

Verify the DVD Player is turned on, and if it is not turned on press the "Power" button located on the left side of the AMX Touchpanel screen. If the DVD Player is powered on, you may load your DVD by pressing the eject button on the DVD Player to extend the loading tray. Put your DVD on the loading tray and hit eject once more to retract the tray into the DVD Player. The loaded DVD will probably autoplay at this time to the Title Menu or start the content located on the disc. You may navigate the DVD Menus as needed by using the compass rose arrows located on the right side of the Touchpanel screen. The buttons on the left side of the screen will allow you to return to the DVD Menu, select a different Angle of view if your DVD supports this or enable any encoded subtitles on the DVD. Across the bottom of this page are the playback controls for the DVD Player (Play, Stop, Pause, Chapter Back, Rewind, Fast Forward, Chapter Forward) you can use to navigate through the DVD content.

A preview window is located in the center of the AMX display and will show the video feed from the DVD. Tapping the AMX screen in this mode will expand the preview window to a fullscreen view of the video feed and tapping the screen once more will revert back to the windowed view.

Eject your DVD from the DVD Player by depressing the eject button to extend the loading tray out, remove your DVD then press the eject button once more to retract the loading tray back into the player.
