Mapping a network drive to your PC (Requires Windows 2000 or Windows XP)

    • Right click on the "My Computer" icon.
    • Go to "Tools" and from the dropdown select "map network drive".

  • Choose a letter to denote your drive.

NOTE: Default letters have been assigned to ‘fs’ (drive letter ‘u’) And ‘Admins2’ (drive letter ‘j’)

    • Type the path of the folder you are trying to map to.
    • To map to your directory on ‘fs’ you would type : \\fs.scs.fsu.edu\yourusername
    • To automatically access this ‘drive’ each time you login to the network, Place a check next to “Reconnect at login”
    • To login to this drive as a different user, click on: “Connect using a different username” and enter that information in the box.
    • Click on “Finish” and the connection will be established. It may take a few minutes to negotiate the connection
