FSU Wireless Network Setup (Macintosh)
SCS uses FSU's wireless canopy to provide mobile users with Internet connectivity. The following guide has been taken from ACNS. For indepth help, including configuring IPSec, user guides, and general help point your browser at the
ACNS help page for further assistance.
Prerequisites
1. You must make sure your TCP/IP settings are set to "DHCP automatically obtain".
2. Make sure you have nothing in the "SSID" or "SID" box.
3. Become familiar with your "site survey or strength meter program", to find the best connection rate.
Guide
1. Open the web browser (Safari, Firefox, etc.).

2. You will see a security alert pop-up indicating that you are redirecting to a secure site (Figure 1.1), Accept the certificate and click the Ok button to proceed, you will be redirected to a login page.
3. At the login page (Figure 1.2), you will need to enter your FSU account information, unless you are a Guest. Read the terms of service, check the box “I accept terms of service”, and click Login.
4. The FSU account information can be either the Garnet, Mailer, or PPP account username and password. If you have not yet set up your FSU account and you do have your FSU Card, please click on the link
https://cars.acns.fsu.edu, to be directed to set up your account. Additional information is located on the web page on how to secure your wireless network connection.
VISITORS!! If you are visiting FSU, you can enter your email address in the Guests login box instead of entering information into the Registered Users box.

5. Once you have successfully logged in, your browser will refresh (Figure 1.3). You may browse the web.
