Aspen is a multi-purpose platform for interactive calculations with Maple or Matlab, classroom assignments using numerical libraries, scientific computations, visualization with OpenGL, and scientific word-processing with LaTeX. Since Birch is a 4 processor machine, and supports the MPICH implementation of MPI, it can run parallel jobs, if they only require a few processors.Getting Started
