1. Systems priorities

• Replace remedy with a better system (egroupware's trouble ticket system)
• Improve communications, more notifications
• Increase the number of machines that are a part of the condor flock
• Provide a web-based Calendar service to groups within SCS (egroupware's calendar)
• Technical/Systems house keeping
  • harden core services by adding more redundancy to DNS, DHCP, NFS, SAMBA.
  • develop core systems documentation
  • automate more routine functions with scripts
  • store scripts and web content in an SVN repository
  • optimize disk backup routine
  • expand existing systems monitoring
  • change core password management system to LDAP/Kerberos
  • start security monitoring (syslog consolidation, network monitoring, etc)
  • provide a desktop imaging system for building the following machines:
    • Windows
    • Macintosh
    • Linux
    • Linux/Windows dual-boot
  • populate internal DB (personnel and equipment)
  • build web interfaces to internal DBs
  • start the second phase of the computer room construction
