Promotion, Tenure, and Doctoral Directive Status Committee

Committee Role and Responsibilities

The committee membership is restricted to tenured SCS Professors, proposed by the Director and Faculty General Committee and confirmed by vote of the tenure-track SCS faculty. The committee makes recommendations to the director regarding promotion, tenure, and doctoral directive status of SCS faculty members. For each tenure and/or promotion case, the director and chair of the committee appoints a subcommittee of two faculty members. The subcommittee members assist the candidate in the preparation of the case; familiarize themselves with the details of the case; and present the case to the promotion and tenure committee and, additionally, to the tenured faculty when considering granting tenure to a SCS faculty member.

The current membership of this committee is:

  • Bernd Berg
  • Dennis Duke
  • Gordon Erlebacher
  • Kyle Gallivan
  • Max Gunzburger
  • Yousuff Hussaini
  • Michael Navon
  • Janet Peterson
