The Matsim cluster is owned by Dr. Anter El-Azab and is intended to support his research requirements and those associated with the recently approved Center of Excellence for Advanced Materials (CEAM). The new FSU center will develop technologies to make new materials that are stronger, lighter, multifunctional, and affordable, and will provide training statewide to prepare a strong workforce base to attract advanced material industries to the state. Additional nodes have been purchased for the upgrade, due to the differences in hardware betwen the nodes we have inititally decided to seperate them into two seperate but loosely coupled clusters: matsim and matsim-ib
The current hardware configuration consists of the following (distinguished by the designation matsim)
There are a total of 38 cores in this configuration:
1 head node configured with:
4 Gigabytes of RAM
2 Intel Xeon 3.20GHz processor
Gigabit Ethernet interface
1.6TB of usable file storage
1 compute node configured with:
2 Gigabytes of RAM
4 Intel Xeon 3.20GHz processors
Gigabit Ethernet interface
16 compute nodes configured with:
2 Gigabytes of RAM
2 Intel Xeon 3.20GHz processor
Gigabit Ethernet interface
The cluster has been expanded to included to following nodes (which are designated by matsim-ib)
There are a total of 168 cores in this configuration.
