File Systems

Local Storage

The file system is currently configured as a raid 10 device on the head node formatted with ext3 providing 1.4TB of usable shared storage. All home directories are NFS mounted from here. Also each of the compute nodes has ~40G of local scratch space available for usage.

Remote storage

The global home directories (that exist on fs or panfs) are linked to ~/fshome, but on the head node only. This provides a seemless mechanism for transferring your files around. Note for those users who are not on the scs floor, you cannot connect directly to the acm cluster to ftp in and out files. However if you ftp the files to pamd first the will be available to you on the headnode through ~/fshome
